CarShareHFX Application Form

Welcome to the CarShareHFX application process. This application form gives you access to the following plans:

Open plan (for one-person accounts)
Liberty plans (for individuals, couples, families and other households on one account)

Please note:

Each driver fills out their own application.
Application fees are collected off-line. You’ll see how to pay after you click the “Continue” button at the end.

After we have the fee:

  • We review your driver's record.
  • We email you a notice to come in for your Orientation.
  • During Orientation at our office you will finalize your choice of Plan (Open or Liberty Basic, Liberty Plus or Liberty Prime)
  • You choose your payment options (VISA, MasterCard or other… )
  • You get your membership number and fob.
  • We’ll answer your questions
  • And perhaps you will meet other new CarShareHFX Members.

There are four membership plans: Your choice will depend on your driving patterns. Read all the plan options details here.

Paying for your driving: 95% of members pay us with their Visa or MasterCard. If you don't use a credit card you can join in the Liberty plan but not in the Open plan. Please call if you have questions about this. We are reviewing our payments options and will be changing in the months ahead.

Privacy Concerns

We only ask for information we believe will allow us to provide our highest level of service to you. You do have the choice to provide the minimum contact information. However, this may mean we cannot contact you in a timely manner. By omitting personal contact information you accept that this may limit our service to you as a consequence.

Fill out the form completely. Required fields are marked with an " * " must have some characters in the field on the application or it will not be accepted by the system. If you wish to leave the field "blank" simply enter "xxx" and go on. At the very minimum, please add your cell phone number if you have one.

Your application fee and other charges will be paid by this Member. The Member may set rules of use for you in addition to those in the Driver's Agreement, and can at their sole discretion add, suspend or remove drivers from their List.

When we have reviewed and approved your application and driver's record (1 - 2 business days if your license is from NS, NB, NF, or PEI) we will email you with your next steps to getting your personal CarShareHFX Member ID and key fob.

We must verify your answers for insurance purposes. We request a copy of your driving record from NS, NB, PE, NF and ON online. This takes a day or two.

Verification

By submitting your application for a CarShareHFX Open or Liberty Membership , you

  1. Certify that everything stated in this application is true to the best of your knowledge.
  2. Authorize CarShareHFX, its agents and insurers to review your credit history, driving record and other background information, as CarShareHFX shall deem relevant to its approval of Member's participation in the CarShareHFX program.
  3. Understand that this application and all of the above consumer reports will be used to determine your acceptance for membership.
  4. Understand that CarShareHFX and its agents and insurers will retain the information provided by you and the review of your driving record, whether your application is approved or declined.
  5. Agree to be bound by this application and understand that failure to disclose any violations or accidents will cause automatic rejection of this application or later revocation of the Membership.
  6. Acknowledge that you have reviewed the CarShareHFX Driver Terms and Membership Agreement and agree to observe and be bound by them, including any amendments to either document as posted on the CarShareHFX website.
  7. Authorize that your Application Fee, Membership plan fee and Application fees for drivers applying to be added to your Drivers List (if any) be charged to your account for immediate payment.
