Remember Mr. Canoehead?
One of the greatest things about living in Nova Scotia, (and a good reason to join CarShareHFX), is of course the ocean playground. Last year we partnered with The Trail Shop to provide not just discount kayak rentals, but also Thule (the best) Roof Racks, so members can really get away with just about anything (canoe, small boat, surf boards, windsurfers, etc.) so to speak.

Our Roof Rack equiped cars can be found at our Leeds Street, Portland Street in Dartmouth, The Westwood on Gladstone, and at Cable Wharf on Lower Water Street locations. We should also mention the the Kia Rondo (seven seater) at 1313 Hollis Street has Rondo Roof Racks that can also be used for transporting large or long items.

Business is picking up (on CarSharing)!
CarSharing everywhere gets busy when the weather warms up and folks want to get out and about. In Halifax, finding available rent-a-cars in the summer can be difficult and one might wait an unexpected long time for a taxi as well.

True story: last summer a couple visiting from Toronto, joined CarShareHFX with a 3 month ($99) membership, when they found no rental cars available. Their membership was processed within two hours and they were able to explore the province while attending a conference in Halifax. So CarShareHFX can provide instant mobility for friends coming from away.
