Go Green to the Atlantic Eco Expo this weekend
No wheels – no problem! Don't miss the Eco Expo. CarShareHFX is providing shuttle service from the end of Metro Transit Route 6 on St. Margarets Bay Road (Stonehaven at Glenmore) to Exhibition Park on Saturday from 9:23 am, hourly to 3:23 pm, with return trips from 10:00 am, hourly to 4:00 pm. Saturday the #6 runs from the Water St (Ferry Terminal) leaving at 3 minutes before the hour, out Quinpool, via the Mumford Terminal at 15 minutes after the hour. Sunday, the #6 ONLY runs from the Mumford Terminal leaving at 10 minutes before the hour, to the pickup point, arriving on the hour. Shuttle service will depart from 9:00 am, hourly to 4:00 pm, with return trips from 9:40 am, hourly to 4:40 pm. |

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
How many time have you heard, "I can't find a rental agency in town that has cars with snow tires." The bad news is this is frequently the case. The good news CarShareHFX vehicles will all be equipped with snows by mid-December. We've listened to you and are changing out the rental car industry standard all-season tires and putting snow tires on all our cars this winter. And so you're sure to be able to go in the snow, all our car locations are in contractor-plowed off-street lots. |

 Trendsmap.com is a real-time mapping of Twitter trends across the world. We focused a somewhat chaotic world or tweets, on our own neck of the woods, HRM and environs. Sometimes there is very little or even nothing happening. On the other hand, it's really interesting to get the bird's eye view on what folks are thinking and talking about in your neighbourhood.

Livable Streets Initiative
The recent 4 days event with John Thackara here in Halifax shone a bright light on Halifax! Coming from Europe, John was very encouraging about what he saw here (which included CarSharing to our surprise!). In sum, we're doing many things right. It's heartening to see how many of us are talking and acting for quality of life and sustainability. The Livable Streets Initiative is a worldwide online community for people working to create sustainable cities through sensible urban planning, design, and transportation policy. “We believe that people make a city great. Yet, so many of the world's great cities dedicate too much of their precious, limited public space - their streets - to motor vehicles rather than people.” This is a great resource!
