Free parking on the Halifax Waterfront.
If you are like most of us when you have a lunch or a meeting or a task to perform you wouldn’t choose downtown. You imagine driving round and around blocks looking for a spot constantly supplicating to the parking fairy. Let's face it parking in the downtown capital district is a nightmare – until now for CarshareHFX members.

By the generosity and leadership of the Waterfront Development Corporation, CarShareHFX vehicles can park for free (during a one year pilot) on selected lots on the Halifax Waterfront.

Obviously in all instances provided space is available and there are two important exceptions: It does not include the Cunard parking lot, at the foot of Morris Street as it is full (monthly parkers) or the metered lots. Still, in this case you are very likely to be lucky and granted the acreage of the Waterfront lots, likely to be within minutes of any downtown destination. This means you can meet with your lawyer, accountant or downtown clients, have lunch or dinner with a friend downtown, take up an issue with City Hall or Province House and take the kids to the Discovery Centre or the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic all afternoon, and just enjoy the wonderful pedestrian walk along the Halifax Waterfront without ever having to worry about parking.
